Duck of Daring Do
Ian Mountain (the Cranwell instrument member!) flew through rain on Wednesday and came back with a dodgy ASI. The pitot had some water in it and so they fixed it that evening. The following day (yesterday), the ASI was U/S and the altimeter was moving in a very jerky fashion. He flew the entire task like that and tried to fix it on return to the airfield. At this stage he declared that the tube between the ASI and the pitot had been stolen! What had actually happened was that he had reconnected the pitot to the altimeter. Good job he knows what he is doing!
Mr Rude
The air cadets for promising to run the bar last night and then staging a mass landout (all 4 gliders) to avoid doing so!
